Today, Grant Street Group announced the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office has successfully gone live with TaxSys®, Grant Street’s tax collection and billing system. Lee County rests on Florida’s Gulf Coast and contains the cities of Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Bonita Springs, as well as the vacation-destination islands of Sanibel and Captiva. Over 810,000 residents call Lee County home.
The Lee County Tax Collector’s Office chose TaxSys – the country’s most widely used cloud-based property tax collection system – after conducting a competitive solicitation process in 2020. The TaxSys implementation began in August 2020 and was completed on schedule over an 18-month period.

My team, in partnership with Grant Street, did an outstanding job completing this project on deadline and within budget.”
The Tax Collector’s Office has used PaymentExpress®, Grant Street’s e-payments solution, to process tax payments since 2019. PaymentExpress is now fully integrated with TaxSys and processes more than $534 million in payments for the Tax Collector annually.
Lee County’s conversion included several other integrated services from Grant Street’s tax collection suite:
- A centralized portal for delinquent tax services including the annual tax certificate sale
- Ordering and managing title examinations
- Online vehicle and vessel registration renewals
- Online business tax account applications and payments
- Integrated data analytics

Lee County now joins 27 other Florida tax collectors who entrust their tax collection and billing functions to TaxSys.
