Alachua County, FL Goes Live with TaxSys®, Grant Street Group’s Suite of Integrated Web-Based Tax Collection Services

alachua_screenshot1Pittsburgh, PA (September 10, 2012)  — Today, the Alachua County Tax Collector’s office went live with TaxSys, Grant Street Group’s state-of-the-art tax collection and billing system and integrated suite of tax collection software. Alachua County collects nearly $300 million in property taxes on more than 114,000 parcels, in addition to collecting local business taxes, tourist development taxes, and processing motor vehicle transactions.

“We’re extremely pleased to be live on TaxSys”, said Von Fraser the Alachua County Tax Collector. “Grant Street’s technical and project management team are exceptional professionals and I commend them for their hard work during the conversion” continued Mr. Fraser.

“With TaxSys, all of our collection software is combined in one solution,” said John Power, Alachua County Assistant Tax Collector. “Integrating credit card processing, tax certificate sales, tax deed applications, and electronic billing will provide our office with significant operational efficiencies and allow us to better serve the people of Alachua County,” continued Mr. Power.

The Alachua County Tax Collector’s conversion to TaxSys began in April 2012 and took just five months to complete. This included the transition to PaymentExpress, Grant Street Group’s e-payment solution which is fully integrated with TaxSys. With PaymentExpress, the Tax Collector’s Office can now accept all major credit cards and PIN debit cards at each branch office and online, in addition to e-checks.

“The conversion experience was exceptional. Grant Street’s project management team completed an enormous amount of work in a short period of time,” said Jon Costabile, Executive Director of Finance for the Tax Collector’s office. “Every aspect of the transition – data conversion, creating custom interfaces with our high speed processor and accounting system, building custom reports, and staff training – was as smooth as possible,” continued Mr. Costabile.

“Alachua County is an important addition to Grant Street’s client base, and a further indication that a fully integrated, turnkey tax collection solution is increasingly important to streamline operations and deliver better services,” said Ian Yorty, Grant Street Group’s Director of Florida Business Development.

Alachua County joins 13 other Florida County Tax Collectors who have selected TaxSys for their revenue collection needs since the system was launched in 2006. For more information, please contact Ian Yorty at (305) 710-8926, or
