Nassau County, Florida Selects TaxSys®

October 9, 2013 Nassau County

Pittsburgh, PA (October 9, 2013) – Grant Street Group, the leading provider of web-based tax collection software in Florida, announced today that the Nassau County Tax Collector has signed a contract for a comprehensive suite of tax collection software. This includes TaxSys®, a state-of-the-art, web-based tax collection and billing system; PaymentExpress, a full service payment processing solution for credit cards, debit cards and e-checks; and LienAuction®, Grant Street’s tax certificate auction platform.

Nassau County, the Eastern Gateway to the Sunshine State, will become the 18th Florida County Tax Collector Office to switch to TaxSys since the system was launched in 2006. The conversion to TaxSys will begin in February 2014, with a scheduled completion date in September 2014. Grant Street’s
PaymentExpress service for online e-payment and over-the-counter payments will also begin in September 2014.

“Technology is a critical component that enables my office to serve the public in the best possible manner,” said John Drew, Nassau County Tax Collector. “Moving to TaxSys is a strategic decision to ensure our technology advances and evolves with the needs of our office and the customers we serve,” continued Mr. Drew.

Last spring, the Tax Collector’s office successfully concluded its annual tax certificate sale using LienAuction. All 2,801 tax certificates offered for sale were purchased for $3.9 million in delinquent property taxes – a collection ratio of 100%.

“As a former president of the Florida Tax Collectors Association, John Drew is a recognized leader in the State on matters regarding tax collection and the services tax collectors provide,” said Ian Yorty, Grant Street Group’s Director of Florida Business Development. “As a smaller sized county, Nassau is an important milestone for Grant Street. TaxSys can provide counties of any size

with the benefit of a hosted web-based tax collection solution. Fully integrated software for all tax collection activities, such as the tax sale, e-payments, and an array of public facing online services brings everything together for them in one complete technology package.”
