Escambia County, Florida Goes Live with TaxSys®

April 4, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

escambiaToday, Grant Street Group announced that the Escambia County Tax Collector has gone live with TaxSys® a state-of-the-art, web-based tax collection and billing system. Home to the City of Pensacola, and one of Florida’s original counties, Escambia is among the 20 largest counties in the State with a population of nearly 300,000 and a tax roll value over $240 million.

The Escambia County Tax Collector becomes the 22nd Florida County Tax Collector’s Office to convert to TaxSys since the system was launched in 2006. The conversion also included the transition to several of Grant Street’s services fully integrated with TaxSys, including PaymentExpress® for e-payment processing, and RenewExpress™, a simple online vehicle and vessel registration renewal service for County residents.

“The go-live to TaxSys was a seamless transition, and Grant Street’s implementation approach with the conversion exceeded our expectations,” said Janet Holley, Escambia County Tax Collector. “Our staff members were able to continue providing vital services to our taxpayers — without any interruption. We were extremely satisfied with the entire process,” continued Ms. Holley.

Escambia County will also begin using Grant Street’s LienAuction® tax certificate auction platform for its annual tax lien sale. The new auction website will be available to the public in early 2016.

“Escambia has a team of highly tuned professionals, which greatly facilitated the success of the implementation and further enriched our knowledge base,” said Ian Yorty, Grant Street Group’s Chief Business Development Officer. “We applaud the hard work and effort of the Tax Collector’s office during the seven month conversion process,” continued Mr. Yorty.
