September 20, 2013

Pittsburgh, PA (September 20, 2013)Grant Street Group, the leading provider of web-based tax collection software in Florida, announced today that the Sumter County Tax Collector has signed a contract for a comprehensive suite of tax collection software. The contract includes TaxSys®, a state-of-the-art, web-based tax collection and billing system; PaymentExpress, a full service payment processing solution for credit cards, debit cards and e-checks; and LienAuction®, Grant Street’s tax certificate auction platform.

Sumter County, which has the fastest growing population in the State, will join 15 other Florida County Tax Collector Offices that have switched to TaxSys since the system was launched in 2006. With the addition of Sumter County, TaxSys will collect nearly half of all property taxes in the State.

“Finding a modern tax collection system with a proven track record in Florida was a critical priority to ensure that the taxpayers of Sumter County receive the most efficient and highest quality services,” said Randy Mask, Sumter County Tax Collector.

The conversion to TaxSys will take place over the next six months, with a scheduled completion date in February 2014. Grant Street’s PaymentExpress services for online e-payments and over-the-counter payments will also begin in February 2014. The Tax Collector’s office successfully concluded its annual tax certificate sale using LienAuction on May 31, 2013. “This year’s tax sale was the most efficient and well-organized sale we’ve ever conducted,” said Mr. Mask.

“With Sumter County’s exponential population growth, advancing the technology used to deliver government services is essential,” said Ian Yorty, Grant Street Group’s Director of Florida Business Development. “TaxSys and its integrated suite of public facing online services will provide the Tax Collector’s office with the tools necessary to meet the needs of its constituents. Grant Street congratulates Mr. Mask, and his staff, on their forward thinking approach,” continued Mr. Yorty.
