The Lee County, Florida Tax Collector’s Office has officially selected TaxSys® as its new cloud-based tax billing and collection system. Home to over 770,000 people, Lee County encompasses Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Captiva Island, Sanibel Island, and is home to the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball teams during spring training.
“A critical component of our 2020-2025 Strategic Plan is leveraging technology to better serve the taxpayers of Lee County, and TaxSys will become a cornerstone of that mission,” said Lee County Tax Collector Larry Hart. “After conducting extensive market research and issuing a competitive solicitation, Grant Street’s TaxSys platform was the only solution that met all our requirements.”
The Lee County Tax Collector’s Office chose Grant Street following a request for information and a thorough analysis. The full conversion to TaxSys will take place over a 19-month period, beginning in early August.

TaxSys is the country’s most widely used cloud-based property tax collection system, and is used to process more than $23 billion a year in Florida property tax payments. Lee County will become the 27th Florida county to implement TaxSys.
The Tax Collector’s Office currently uses PaymentExpress®, Grant Street’s e-payments solution, tailored to meet the unique operational and customer service needs of government entities. PaymentExpress is used to process more than $12 billion in e-payments each year.
