Today, Grant Street Group announced the Hernando County Tax Collector’s Office has successfully gone live with TaxSys, Grant Street’s cloud-based tax collection and billing system.
Located on the west central coast of Florida with a population of over 194,000 residents, Hernando County is home to the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge and encompasses the communities of Brooksville, Hernando Beach, and Spring Hill.
The TaxSys implementation began in March 2022 and was completed on time and on budget over an 11-month period.

The County’s implementation included several other integrated services from Grant Street’s tax collection suite:
- Public website for taxpayer searches and payments
- Online vehicle and vessel registration renewals
- Centralized portal for delinquent tax services including the annual tax certificate sale
- Integrated escrow payment processing
- Integrated property information reports
- Universal cashiering, including interfaces to DHSMV’s systems to support checkout of motor vehicle and driver license-related items
